There are a number of well-known tried and true sugar glider diets available. These include Critter Love Complete, Critter Love Plus, HPW Original, HPW Complete, HPW Plus, BML, Judie's BML, Pricilla Price (The Pet Glider Diet), Suncoast, Original Leadbeaters, etc. There are also fruit smoothie and veggie relish recipes at sweetsugargliders.com.
The 2 most popular diets and ones used the longest and most tested are HPW Original and BML. HPW Original Diet is what I have fed for over 5 years and my guys love it. I now feed Critter Love Complete which is almost the same but easier to put together. It is just a powder with the Calcium and Protein in it and you mix it with hot water in a blender and freeze in ice cube trays. One ice cube at night along with fresh fruits and veggies is a great diet!
(Also keep Critter Love Complete Powder in freezer at all times).
Feedings:
1 Ice cube of Critter Love Complete per night for tw0 gliders. 1 T. mixed veggies per glider 1 T. mixed fruit per glider
I order Critter Love Complete from Peggy Brewer at Critter Love.
How I prepare the fruits and veggies:
I start with a bag of frozen corn, peas, green beans, and carrots. I put a small amount on each plate each night. All of the fresh veggies are chopped up and put in separate baggies (or a plastic bowl) in the freezer. Anything off of the safe fruits and veggies list is fine and you should vary what you fix to keep the gliders interested. I add 5 or 6 veggies to each plate each night. Then I do both frozen or fresh fruits (usually 1 or 2 fruits a night). Frozen bags usually can include blueberries, raspberries, sweet cherries, blackberries, peaches, etc. Fresh fruits can be kiwi, bananas, strawberries, grapes (red or green), watermelon, cantalope, etc. Then add 1 ice cube of the Critter Love Complete per plate (per cage). Last, you can have a "fun bowl" each night which is explained farther down.
The next advice I was given was to use 3 bowls each night (I use a 3 sectioned plate). Bowl 1: fruits and veggies Bowl 2: Critter Love Complete Bowl 3: THE FUN BOWL - something different everynight: a few plain cheerios, a bit of spaghetti, a dab of peanut butter, sweet potatoes, chicken &/or bone, cheese cubes cut in half, fruit yogurt, honey nut cheeries, craisins, etc.
Extra Advice:
Mealworms: 5 or 6 each morning before gliders go back in pouch (I buy them from Camillie's Vita-Mealies - organically grown and very healthy).
The diet list of all the other available diets is available on the internet forum Glider Central and you can also google each diet.
